Tai Chi

Consider tai chi. Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that today is practiced as a graceful form of exercise. It involves a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner. Tai chi will teach you patience. Tai chi will give you confidence. Tai chi will inspire you. Learn a simple form of tai chi that will improve your balance, assist you in falls prevention and perhaps help you to deal with a chronic condition such as arthritis, depression and neurologic conditions like Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis. Make new

friends and expand your social network.

Beverly's classes help build strength and endurance, increase flexibility, and improve posture and balance. They are designed for mid-life and older adults who may benefit from a slower pace and a recognition of age-related functional changes. Students are encouraged to use props, modify poses, transition carefully, and find their appropriate balance between ease and effort.  Breath work, relaxation and meditation practices are included to encourage stress reduction. We do seated chair poses, standing poses, and floor work (alternatives are available for those who cannot get up and down from the floor unassisted). Beginners welcome.
